What To Do In Austin
The White Horse
If you want some real Texas two-stepping, this is a hidden gem on the East Side of Austin. There is very little parking so plan for Uber/Lyft.
Terry Black's Barbecue
If you want some authentic Texas BBQ, Terry Black's is THE place. Weekend lines are long...sometimes wrapped around the building, but they move quickly and may often serve margaritas or beers in line. Wear sunscreen, it's hot.
Very little parking, so be prepared with Uber/Lyft.
The Driskill - The Unbound Collection by Hyatt
This is a haunted hotel in downtown Austin. It's got a cool bar in the back with live music and a decent menu. It is on the pricier side, but worth a check out.
This is also a good spot to start if you plan on visiting 6th Street and taking in all the live music (and comedy) you can handle. The streets get blocked off at 7p Thursday-Saturday so if you park, make sure it's off the main street. Definitely be on the lookout for parking meters and lots because they WILL fine you for no payment.
